We are registered for 35 residential and nursing placements in our main building as well as having a dedicated dementia unit providing homes to a further 8 individuals. As we are registered with Continuing Health Care we are also able to provide respite and emergency care placement facilities.
On admission each service user is provided with a named nurse and key worker, who are responsible for ensuring that each individuals care file is planned in accordance with the individual’s preferences and care needs. The person centred approach that we have adopted here at Nettleton Manor ensures that the individual’s needs are met holistically as well as medically through our team of nurses.
Dementia Nursing Care
Our dementia unit, known as The Coach House, is fully secured and supervised 24 hours a day by our team of trained carers and nurses. It is important to us that those people in our care with dementia are treated with the utmost respect and we work to ensure that our service users retain their sense of identity and feelings of self worth.
We have a wide range of activities available within our dementia unit, where service users are able to do these as they wish. We also have a secure garden with a greenhouse as gardening is a favoured activity among many of our service users.
Our palliative care aims to maintain and where possible, improve quality of life for service users and their families. During this difficult and upsetting time, our dedicated staff will ensure the utmost dignity, respect and care is provided. All our staff are highly skilled and trained to deliver the highest standards of palliative care, using active care methods to improve pain and symptom control; promote dignity and choice.
Our aim is to:
Even though many families take great joy in providing care to their loved ones so that they can remain at home, the physical, emotional and financial consequences for the family caregiver can be overwhelming without some support, such as respite. Respite provides the much needed temporary break from the often exhausting challenges faced by the family caregiver.
